Library Catalog and eBook Catalog Offer New Features

The Adams County Public Library's Online Catalog and eBook Catalog have recently been updated. We're excited to share some of the new, enhanced features of our updated Online Catalog. Use the catalog to find items faster, with more accurate search results. On the left side of the home page, follow links to see lists of the newest items added to the catalog, organized by format, including new DVDs, new fiction, non-fiction, and audio books.

The eBook Catalog has been renamed the Ohio Digital Library, and offers over 125,000 titles for instant download, including eBooks, audio books, movies, and music. Use your library card number and PIN to log in to the eBook Catalog, and check out items that interest you. View these brief instructions to help you get started.

Library Seeking Youth Outreach Specialist

The Adams County Public Library is now accepting applications for a Youth Outreach Specialist who is responsible for promoting library resources and services to students, parents, and educational groups. 

Position requires a bachelor’s degree with training in the teaching of reading as well as successful experience working with youth.  Salary based on training and experience beginning at $26,500.  Preference will be given to applicants with leadership skills and experience in team development. 

Applications and job descriptions are available at all branches of the Adams County Public Library.  No phone calls please.  Return sealed applications to any Adams County library, addressed to the attention of Outreach Specialist Search.

All Adams County Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, October 14 for a staff in-service day. No items will be due on October 14. Drop returns in the book return window at any library, or stop by outside to use the library's free wifi connection.

West Union - Jewelry Making Class

Join Natalie Parker at the West Union Library from 5:30 - 7:30 pm, to learn how to craft your own hand-made jewelry. Participants should bring their own wire cutter and needle-nose pliers, but jewelry supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring your own special beads to items to incorporate into your own custom jewelry! This event is free, but space is limited.

West Union - Computer Class

Come join us for a free, hands-on course to learn basic computer and Internet skills. This two-part class will be held Monday and Wednesday, July 22 - 24, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the West Union Library. These classes are free, and sponsored by the Connect Ohio Program. The Connect Ohio program ends on July 31, 2013, so join us now - these will be our last class sessions.
