Preschool Family Program Available
Many families are concerned about wh
at they can do to prepare their pre-school child for reading success. The newly established Youth Outreach Program of the Adams County Public Library System now offers a Preschool Family Program, to introduce parents to Every Child Ready to Read. Every Child Ready to Read is a wonderful, easy-to-understand resource to help parents provide preschoolers with the pre-reading skills needed for success.
Parents are invited to attend an Every Child Ready To Read meeting at your local branch of the Adams County Public Library. The next round of meetings will be 30 minutes long, and offered morning and evening at each library. Feel free to bring your pre-schooler along! During the morning meetings, children are welcome to attend Story Time while their parents join in the ECCR meeting.:

Library Catalog Maintenance Planned Monday
On Monday, November 12, the online Library Catalog will be unavailable during the evening hours for maintenance. The Catalog has experienced some problems when searching for items, and the maintenance is planned to resolve the problem. If you need to access your library account while the Catalog is unavailable, please call your branch of the Adams County Public Library, and we'll be happy to help you. Thank you for your patience!
All Adams County Public Libraries will be open on Monday, November 12. Stop in and visit us!
Library Restores Full Open Hours
Starting Monday, July 16, all branches of the Adams County Public Library will be open six days each week. Adams County Libraries will be open from 10 am – 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. Each library will also offer evening hours until 7 pm on two week nights.
In 2010, the Adams County Public Library was forced to cut some services and reduce open hours by one day per week at each library, because of reductions in state library funding. In March 2012, Adams County voters approved a library levy, allowing us to restore the weekly hours during which library services and facilities are available to the community. Thank you for your continuing support!

Library Staff Prepare for New Circulation System
The Adams County Public Library staff is in the process of being trained on a new circulation software system. SirsiDynix Symphony® Integrated Library System is scheduled to go “live” around June 7, 2012.
This planned change in software will take place simultaneously in hundreds of Ohio public libraries.
As with any change, there could be some downtime and a few bumps and bruises along the way. However, the end result will be worth it. We are asking that you bear with us as we make these improvements.
As always, Adams County Public Library is here to serve you. Thank you for your understanding and support!
