Peebles Branch
Back to School Events at the Peebles Library
Are you ready for school? Wild About Eyes interactive kiosk, back-to-school fishing and prize givaways, personalized stylized portraits, a back-to-school safety presentation, and teen beauty tips are just some of the events planned for August at the Peebles Public Library.
During August, kids who visit the Peebles Library and check out books can "go fishing" to instantly receive back-to-school items, enter their name in drawings for back-to-school prizes, including fully-stocked backpacks, lunchbags, scientific calculators, and more, and enter their name for a chance to have their own stylized portrait sketched.
Plan to visit one of these August Activities at the Peebles Library!
Library Restores Full Open Hours
Starting Monday, July 16, all branches of the Adams County Public Library will be open six days each week. Adams County Libraries will be open from 10 am – 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. Each library will also offer evening hours until 7 pm on two week nights.
In 2010, the Adams County Public Library was forced to cut some services and reduce open hours by one day per week at each library, because of reductions in state library funding. In March 2012, Adams County voters approved a library levy, allowing us to restore the weekly hours during which library services and facilities are available to the community. Thank you for your continuing support!

Peebles Public Library Summer Reading Program: Dream Big... Read!
Library Staff Prepare for New Circulation System
The Adams County Public Library staff is in the process of being trained on a new circulation software system. SirsiDynix Symphony® Integrated Library System is scheduled to go “live” around June 7, 2012.
This planned change in software will take place simultaneously in hundreds of Ohio public libraries.
As with any change, there could be some downtime and a few bumps and bruises along the way. However, the end result will be worth it. We are asking that you bear with us as we make these improvements.
As always, Adams County Public Library is here to serve you. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Help Us Celebrate “I Love My Library” Month
Join patrons of the Adams County Public Library, as we celebrate “I Love My Library Month” this February! All month, stop in to your local library, pick up a paper heart, and write a note about why the library is important to you. We’ll post your “library love notes” in your local branch library.
