Back to School Safety Event at the Peebles Library

Join us at the Peebles Library at 2:00 pm on August 16 for our Back To School event. Meet Peebles Police Chief Rob Music as he talks about how you can stay safe when heading back to school, then stay with us as we draw the winning names for each of seven back to school drawings! Prize items include fully loaded back packs, alarm clocks, lamps, and other school items.

Peebles - Prevent Bullying

Join Lisa Rothwell at the Peebles Library for a program on how you can stop bullying, before it starts. Come talk about Preventing Bullying on Wednesday from 5 - 6:00 p.m. at the Peebles Library.

Peebles - Protect Children with ID

Parents and children, join us at the Peebles Library on August 14, from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, and protect your child by getting a free child's identification card. To help protect your child's identity, Western Southern Life sponsors a free event for parents to create an ID card for their child, including a photo, fingerprint and DNA record.

Balance Seminar Held at Peebles Library

"A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls"

Do you have concerns about falling? Many older adults experience concerns about falling, and restrict their activities. "A Matter of Balance" is an award-winning program designed to help seniors manage falls and increase activity levels.
This program emphasizes practical strategies to stay safe, including:

• Learn to control falls
• Set goals for increasing activity levels
• Make changes at home to reduce the risk of falling
• Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who should attend?

• Anyone concerned about falls
• Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength
• Anyone who has fallen in the past
• Anyone who has restricted activities because of concerns about falling

These programs, led by Lindsay Willman, will be held at the Peebles Library on Mondays and Wednesday, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. from July 29 - August 21, and pre-registration is required. For more information and to register, please call 937-587-3081.

It's Teen Reads at the Peebles Library, on Wednesdays at 2:00 pm! Join us for four fun, crafty programs, discuss your favorite summer reads, and get reading recommendations from other teens.
