Visit the West Union Library any Wednesday in May for the chance to win a prize from our gardening display case! Randomly chosen visitors every Wednesday will have the chance to select a gardening-related item from our display case.
Herb Workshop with Cindy Cates
On Tuesday, May 14 at 5:00 pm, Cindy Cates will offer a workshop on Growing Your Own Herbs. We'll cover everything you need to know to get ready for planting herbs this spring. Cindy will discuss techniques for planting the most popular herbs, strategies for harvesting and preserving what you grow, and share samples of herbal sugars, oils, vinegars, dips, butters and other recipes.
Tune in to local radio station C103 at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 14 to hear Adam, Kris, Sherry, and Tara talk about the Summer Reading Program, activities for kids in the library, and the "Adams County Avengers." Learn what's happening at your local branch of the Adams County Public Library during the Summer Reading Program, and how you can "Dig Into Reading" with us!
Learn to use the Library Catalog to find books and movies, request items be delivered to the library nearest you, and manage your library account. Use your library card number and PIN to view your checkouts, renew your items, and manage your holds and lists from home.

Bring your ereader, tablet, or mobile device to a hands-on eBook Help Session at the West Union Library on Tuesday, May 7 at 5:00 pm. We'll discover how to borrow library ebooks, and download them to your device. On May 21, from 6 - 8:00 pm, the Adams County Genealogical Society will hold a free Genealogy 101 Class at the Adams County Heritage Center in West Union. All ages are welcome to come learn how to trace their family roots. The class will discuss how to get started, organize findings, interview relatives, find records, record information, and how to avoid mistakes.
Join us as we Celebrate National Library Month at the Adams County Public Library.
All week, when you check out a book at the Peebles Library, enter your name in one of six drawings for new books, including adult and teen fiction, children's books, and cookbooks. We're offering books by popular authors including John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, Suzanne Collins, and Lemony Snicket, children's titles including "How Do Dinosaurs Laugh Out Loud," and two popular cookbooks. We'll draw the winning names on April 30.
This weekend, stop by the North Adams Library and enter your name in a drawing to win books for every member of the family. We're giving away two sets of books, including "The Demigod Diaries" by Rick Riordan, "Arlo Needs Glasses" by Barney Saltzberg and "Confessions of a Murder Suspect" by James Patterson. Celebrate the West Union Public Library’s 24th Anniversary with us in a day-long event at the library on April 24. The West Union Public Library was founded in 1989, and in honor of National Library Month, West Union Library staff and patrons will be celebrating ‘80s Day on Wednesday, April 24.
All Adams County Public Library locations will be closed on Tuesday, April 9 for a staff in-service day. Thank you for your patience. Any items due April 9 will be treated as due on April 10. Even when we are closed, you can return any item in our book drop, or use free WiFi at each library location. Normal hours will resume on April 10.
