Join us at the Manchester Library on Monday, August 21 at 2:00 p.m. for an Eclipse Viewing Party!
“On Monday, August 21, 2017, a total eclipse of the Sun will be visible in the continental United States. This total eclipse will only be visible on a narrow track stretching across the United States from Oregon to South Carolina. No other country will get to see the total eclipse this time.
The rest of the United States and other parts of North and Central America will see a partial eclipse, in which the Moon covers only a portion of the Sun. A partial eclipse is interesting, but nowhere near as awe-inspiring and memorable as a total eclipse. A partial eclipse is also dangerous to look at without something to protect your eyes from the Sun’s damaging rays.”
Join us at the Manchester Library, where we’ll learn more about the solar eclipse, create sun cookies and eat refreshments, craft solar flare flip books, learn about viewing an eclipse safely, and then don eclipse-viewing safety glasses to watch the solar eclipse outside the library. Call Deborah at 937-549-3359 for more information. Read more at Starnet Libraries.
Teens, join Deborah at the Manchester Library for a Back-to-School Movie Party. On August 8 during Teen Activity Club, help us pick the movie we’ll watch on August 22! Every other Tuesday, teens ages 13 – 17 meet after school at the Manchester Library to play games, make crafts, work on group projects, eat snacks, and have fun with friends at the library.
